Feedback on early childhood education
A child has the right to safe and high-quality early childhood education. If a parent or other guardian of a child is dissatisfied with the quality of early childhood education or the treatment related to it, it is advisable to first contact the early childhood education staff or the daycare center director to clarify the matter. If matters cannot be resolved through discussion in their own early childhood education place, guardians have the right to make a complaint to the daycare center director or the head of the early childhood education service in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act. The complaint is generally made in writing. (Early Childhood Education Act, Section 54 (13 July 2018/540))
4. A written response to the reminder will be provided within a reasonable time. A reasoned response will be provided to the reminder, which will explain how the matter has been investigated and what further action the reminder may have led to. If you are not satisfied with the response you received, please contact the sender of the response.
However, issuing a reminder does not affect the right to complain to the Licensing and Supervision Agency.
If the complaint concerns private early childhood education, the complaint should be made primarily to the person responsible for the establishment that is the subject of the complaint.
If you need help with making a reminder, Social Affairs Officer of the Satakunta Welfare Area advises on making a reminder.
