In the application section “road length”, both the total length of the road and the length of the inhabited part are indicated. The additional information in the application indicates possible through traffic, special traffic such as school trips, dairy trucks, etc. heavy traffic. Grants do not take into account sections of roads that run in another municipality. If part of the road runs in another municipality, the number of kilometers must be indicated in the additional information. The signatory(s) of the applicant’s application must provide confirmation that the road municipality’s information is up-to-date in the National Land Survey of Finland’s private road register and the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Digiroad system.
The city reserves the right to check the application information against the databases of the Digital and Population Register, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and/or MML and map data.
Private road grants are awarded based on a scoring system that takes into account 1) the length of the inhabited part of the road, 2) the total length of the road, and 3) the impact of through traffic and/or special traffic on the road, e.g. milk trucks, school buses, etc. The grant amounts are calculated based on the budget to be used and the ratio of the application score to the total application scores. The grant amount awarded to the road authority is no more than the grant amount requested in the application.
Grants are paid to the road authority based on approved expense receipts.
The decision on granting private road grants is made by the Technical Committee of the City of Kankaanpää.
